macOS
Use the official BLACK HOLE download page for published installers. Apple Silicon (ARM64) and Intel (x64) macOS builds are provided as .zip archives. Check the download page for the current release of each architecture.
1. Identify your processor and download the matching build
Open the Apple menu → About This Mac and check the chip or processor:
- Apple M-series chip: choose the Apple download entry.
- Intel processor: choose the Intel entry.
The architectures are released separately and can have different version numbers. Match your processor rather than choosing another architecture for a higher version number. See platforms and compatibility for the checked publication status.
2. Extract and install the application
- Double-click the downloaded
.ziparchive to extract it. - Locate the extracted BLACK HOLE.app.
- Move it to Applications.
- Open BLACK HOLE from Applications.
Before replacing an existing installation, save your work, stop active tasks and quit the client. Back up important data first; moving or deleting the application is not a data backup.
3. Handle first-launch prompts
If macOS prevents the app from opening, confirm that the file came from the official website and matches your processor, then record the actual error. Where the system requests confirmation, follow its prompts in System Settings → Privacy & Security. Do not disable system protection or run security-bypass commands for an unknown download.
Reaching the main interface confirms application startup. Model connections, knowledge retrieval and computer control require separate checks; startup alone does not establish that every feature is ready.
4. Check the features you intend to use
- Model chat: check the provider, API key and model, then send a short request and inspect the response. The built-in BLACK HOLE provider uses
https://blackholeagent.cn/v1by default. - Knowledge bases: import a small source set and inspect both parsed text and retrieval results.
- Computer control: check its settings and follow the prompts to grant Accessibility and Screen Recording permissions to BLACK HOLE Computer Use, the control component installed with BLACK HOLE. Permissions for BLACK HOLE or BLACK HOLE do not replace permissions for this component. The user must grant system access.
Enabling the computer-control switch does not grant operating-system permissions. After granting access, refresh the status or restart as prompted, then check observation, clicking and typing with a small task.
